As part of the ACT Government initiative to getParkFit installations across Canberra as part of fitness initiative people of Canberra active and outdoors, a number of parks were selected for the installation of ParkFit across the capital.
ParkFit was installed at the Tuggeranong town park in Greenway, John Knight Memorial Park in Belconnen and Theodore oval in Theodore
Each site includes an aerobic walker, parallel bars, leg press, trapeze rings and an overhead challenge.
The Tuggeranong Town Park fitness areas also included a push up bar, sit up board, pull up bar and chin up bars, while John Knight Memorial Park included a shoulder press, pull up bar and chin up bars.
The installations come after the government launched a guide to outdoor fitness opportunities around the capital in an attempt to reduce worrying statistics of overweight and obese residents in the territory.
